Message If you have a stock ecu then 178f is where you want your water temp to be. However you have a need to run a lower temp its easily corrected for in the ecu. The main question is what water temp makes the motor most efficient while maintaining reliability. To my knowledge no one has really tested that. Also keep in mind what truly matters is oil temp. If you log the factory oil temp you will be shocked how high it runs.

Btw there are cars that run 250 f oil temps and 230 f water temps routinely. The z on the other hand is close to meltdown at those temps.
